As I wrap second-in-command’s gifts, I’ve been thinking about my most memorable childhood Christmas presents.
There was the glorious year I received an abstract multi-coloured @swatch watch (1980s all the way). Then there was the traumatic Sindy doll/ShakerMaker gift label mix-up incident (I wanted to keep the ShakerMaker but my brother wasn’t so wild about Sindy. Gutted).
And of course, Christmas wasn’t Christmas without an annual: 2000AD for my brother (apparently he’s still got them) and Jackie for me (plenty of tips on how to do questionable blue eye make-up).
