26 December 17: Travel by colour

Hello lovely Colour Filers.

I’ve been wondering where to go on holiday this coming year and, naturally, colour is featuring strongly in my wish list. India – my colour mothership – eternally beckons, as does South America. But closer to home I’m intrigued by somewhere I’ve just read about: the pink and green salt lakes of Torrevieja in Spain.

The bright pink lagoon is the result of pigments of the salt-loving Halobacterium bacteria (also found in the Dead Sea). If you look at an aerial view, you can see the blue-green La Mata lake close by, and the two colours together make a stunning contrast.

This colourway was the inspiration behind today’s shelfie, using #PthaloGreen and the true pink #Mischief by @littlegreenepaintcompany I adore these colours together. They really are proof that, when it comes to colour, opposites can most certainly attract.

Where’s the most colourful place you’ve ever visited?
