26 January 18: A childhood of Puffins

Hello lovely people, and apologies for the radio silence.

Shooting pictures in other people’s homes and seeing their collections of (now deliciously faded) Puffin books has filled me with the very best of childhood memories. Before the days of instant downloads, I belonged to the Puffin Club and was both an avid reader and ardent collector (on account of the colour) of Puffin books.

My favourite was The Voyages of Dr Doolittle, because of its sorbet-coloured cover. Gorgeous. Apparently, Puffin Books was launched four years after Penguin Books had been founded and was inspired by the brightly coloured lithographed books mass-produced at the time for Soviet children. They really are colourful food for the eyes.

Anyway, back to the book. Catch you soon.
