12 May 18: Best of British design

Hi folks. How’s your weekend shaping up?

Revision looms large at Colour File HQ but we’re mixing it up a bit with Fortnite, friends and fun (love a bit of alliteration). In my case, the fun obviously has a coloured flavour to it, mainly in the form of reviewing pics I’ve taken at design events this week. As well as hearing about the new @grahamandbrown wallpaper app and seeing the new range (having seen their Amalfi paper, I’m predicting oranges and lemons EVERYWHERE soon 🍋 🍊) I visited the new @tomdixonstudio design hub and showroom in Kings Cross, too. The Coal Office houses Tom’s latest experiments, innovations (Tom Dixon washing-up liquid, anyone? Sorry, Fairy, I don’t love you anymore 💔) and collaborations, showcasing brand partners like @therugcompany (bottom right, by @paulsmithdesign). I spent hours there and I wager I’d still be there now (they’re very friendly) if it wasn’t for such matters as school runs and putting the washing on. If you’re nearby then go there, and if you’re not then make a pilgrimage to it. Just don’t expect to leave in a hurry. Anyway, have a great day. Back to revision.
