My love of blankets is well-documented in The Colour File.
In the same way that women sometimes confess to hiding pairs of shoes from their partners (“Oh, THESE?! No, they’re not new. I’ve had them for AGES!!!”) when I was married I used to do the same with crocheted and knitted blankets that I’d systematically battled for on @ebay So much love and care seems to be worked into these blankets, I kind of see myself as a curator or custodian of them, preventing them from ending up Cinderella-like, hidden in attics or lining dog baskets (I love dogs but NO!). Well, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. This incredible blanket (top left) was made by an aunt for my friend @zoeellinson and every time I touch it I virtually get an electric shock from the force field of love that was worked into it. See? Worth preserving, aren’t they? What beautiful things do you stash?
