23 May 18: Birthday shelfie motivation

Hello my colour-loving friends.

When I do shelfies, it’s often a combination of factors that come together to inform the scene. It was my birthday yesterday that gave me inspiration for today’s shelfie, starting with this gorgeous canary yellow @cassius_coco sisal basket (adorned with ribbons from @vvrouleaux ) which was my gift from second-in-command and some buttery yellow cala lilies from my friends at Wheelers @wheelers_florist_gardencentre(apparently the yellow variety symbolises gratitude which is perfect because I’ve a lot to be grateful for). A saunter into Craig & Rose to pick up a paint sample to set it off and the look was complete. Several colours could have worked with the bright yellow but the one I picked was Flanders Blue from their 1829 range – a colour inspired by textiles made by skilled Flanders weavers. There’s something about blue and yellow together that get me every time. I find it fun, fresh but also classic. What are your thoughts on blue and yellow?
