24 April 18: Navy Thames plastic

One of my favourite things in nature is the whole business of camouflage.

And, of course, as a colour addict, my favourite type of camouflage is colour matching, where animals avoid detection by visually resembling their backgrounds (such as chameleons or the arctic fox, which turns white for winter and brown for summer). That’s one of the things I’ve enjoyed about changing the background on my Thames plastic pics: the effect of colour matching, seeing colours ‘disappear’ depending on the background colour. For me it’s a similar effect to ‘hiding’ objects in front of colourful books in my #shelfies Pure colour geek fun 🤓
