You know about me and the colour brown, right?
We just don’t really seem to get along. We have history and we just can’t seem to overcome it. But yesterday, surrounded by various shades of rust and brown at @strawberry_steel I had a revelation: as long as I don’t have to wear it or live in a room decorated in it, brown and I are able to reach some kind of understanding. Watching second-in-command shape red-hot metal with hammers and tongs (I also realised how many of our sayings come from blacksmithing) amidst piles of rusting brown hunks of iron made me think how strong and beautiful brown can be. There: I said it. Just don’t be expecting me to be wearing it anytime soon, though.
