Those of you who know me will know I’m not the biggest fan of black and white in interiors.
I think it’s connected to the fact that I’m not a fan of black and white thinking either: life is way too complex for this kind of polarity, and seeing black and white generally reminds me of that. However, I do appreciate it aesthetically.
As I walked around Porto, black and white jumped out at me unexpectedly a few times and I really enjoyed those monochrome moments, like these intricate doorways (bottom left and top right) and facade tiles (top left).
What are your thoughts on monochrome?
