When he was a kid, a friend of mine collected stamps.
He’d buy them with his birthday and pocket money and amassed a large stash of them, including loads of UK ones. Years later, while clearing out their loft, his parents found them and decided not to let them go to waste. They spent hours adding stamps up to the price of 2nd class postage for their Christmas cards, even if it meant licking 12 for each envelope. It did make me laugh but quite frankly, ten out of ten for frugality – and full marks for the beauty of different coloured stamps clustered together. These stamps here (bottom right) were props at a @marthabrookldn event a few weeks ago where we were given some flat lay secrets by @nancy_straughan, including scattering a few colourful stamps into the mix. Aren’t they stunning? SO much better to admire them like this than to shove them through a letterbox.
