Have you got your tree up yet?
I’ve been uncharacteristically lax this year and I’m not quite sure why. Maybe it’s because I read a fact from the British Christmas Tree Growers Association which says that the average 7ft tree is around 10-12 years old. That makes me feel that if you buy a tree, it’s got to be done with intent and love – the tree I pick will, it turns out, have been growing as long as second-in-command has. Wow – for some reason it didn’t occur to me that it’d be that long. As a result, when I get the tree, I want to do it mindfully as an homage to it (I told you, I think objects have personalities….🤔). As you can see (second pic) I’ve got the decorations ready (thanks, @hema.uk and @gisela_graham— you saved me a scary ascent up the attic ladder 😱) and have them threaded with fluoro pink wool. Now I just need to get off my butt and hoik one home. In the meantime, here are the willow branches in my favourite corner of Colour File HQ, being the tree’s colourful understudy.
