5 April 19: Doing the shelfie shuffle

Does anyone else out there like doing the shelfie shuffle?

Although it sounds like something you’d do on Strictly Come Dancing in a red sequinned dress, it is, in actual fact, an interiors pursuit.

Shelfie shuffling is generally sparked by a new possession and the desire to put it to work straight away. At Colour File HQ it goes something like this. Buy something new then squeal with joy.

Clear all objects off shelves like there’s no tomorrow. Rush around looking for other objects that will work brilliantly with your new acquisition. Arrange them on the empty shelves, fiddling and faffing for a while before standing back to admire your handiwork.

That’s exactly what happened when my new alphabet print arrived from @eleanorbowmer yesterday (centre left, next to card from @kcroxson ). It kick-started a multicoloured shelfie shuffle of my favourite things as soon as it came out of its packaging. Chaotic fun.

Tell me – are you a shelfie shuffler?
