Dilly Orme: lessons in colour – and kindness

Would you read this a little more quietly, please…Thank you…I’m ever so slightly worse for wear after the 50th party of my fantabulous friend @dillyorme last night. I met Dilly about 18 months ago in the Press room of the Ideal Home exhibition and we’ve been friends ever since.

Dilly, who always wears flowers in her hair (life should be about ALWAYS wearing flowers in your hair, like Dilly), has taught me so much about colour since I’ve known her. She is brave with colour and pushes out boundaries but when she gives advice she’s kind and caring about it, too, always keeping your heart and soul at the forefront of her opinions.

Dilly’s childhood friend gave a speech at the party, saying she’d never heard Dilly say a bad word about anyone and tells her children to ask themselves ‘What would Dilly do?’ when they’re faced with the choice to be critical versus the choice to be kind. I think that might be my mantra now, too.

Happy birthday, Dilly 🌺🌸🌼🌷💗
