What’s the quirkiest object you display on your shelves?
When I buy anything beautiful, I automatically think about where it’s going to live – even if its primary function is fashion rather than interiors. I regularly hang necklaces from a nail in the wall and silk scarves and decorative bags on coat hooks, rather than stashing them in a cupboard.
Why hide such delights? When I bought these hairbands recently, the first thing that crossed my mind was, ‘Do the colours/style suit me?’ The second was, ‘Where will they live when they’re not on my head?’ Answer: on my bookshelves, where I think the yesteryear tones of the fabric sing happily alongside the vintage colours of the Penguin books.
What are YOUR hacks for displaying the ‘undisplayable’?
